Red Feldspar
This copper bearing Feldspar can range in color from white to brick red and can be opaque to slightly translucent. The red can also be prominent due to microcline iron fibers and has a unique chance to exhibit twinning (crystal reflecting in two patches). You can commonly see quartz, smoky quartz, and many other common minerals coinciding with this variety of crystal. The Mohs Hardness scale rates this stone a 6-6.5. This stone can be found in Oregon U.S, the DRC, Tibet, Madagascar, China, and more.
Historically, Feldspars are used for ceramics and glass making, rubber, and fillers in paint. Each year around 600,000 tons of feldspar is mined in the United States. In October 2012, the Curiosity Rover discovered Feldspar content in Mars rock.
Metaphysically, Red Feldspar is a stone of creativity. It can help with finding unconventional and exciting ways to achieve goals by stimulating creative thinking. Feldspar can also increase your self-respect, self-esteem, and self-awareness.
